Team Vegam

This is Team Vegam, we make go karts that go zoooooom. We go for the Go Kart Design Challenge conducted by ISNEE, where we somehow build an entire kart from scratch under so many design rules and constraints.

We don’t join knowing stuff. Most of us come in with barely any mechanical knowledge, we can’t even properly tell the difference between a cutting plier and a nose plier. It’s confusing, things go wrong, we mess up a lot, and half the time we’re just figuring things out as we go.

But slowly it starts making sense. We learn everything together, with seniors always ready to help the newbies. Not just one part, literally everything about the kart. All 25 of us knew everything about the kart.

We saw it go from just a chassis sitting there to slowly coming to life. The steering, the braking, the engine mounting, after multiple trial and errors, the first time we started the engine and heard it rev… that was mad. Then seeing it move for the first time, and then actually racing it.

Those 5 days of the event were pure chaos. Somewhere in between all that, we got really close. It stopped feeling like a team. It became a family.
