ACM

The computing and innovation community

We’re ACM, the student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru.

We’re a community built around computing in its broadest and most impactful sense — from algorithms and competitive programming to AI, cybersecurity, and software engineering. As part of the global ACM network, we bridge the gap between classroom learning and the rapidly evolving world of technology, helping students grow into thoughtful engineers and innovators.

We believe computing isn’t just about writing code — it’s about solving problems, building systems that matter, and understanding the principles that shape modern technology. Whether it’s through hackathons, coding competitions, workshops, or research-driven discussions, we create spaces where curiosity turns into capability.

From flagship events like Algomania to hands-on workshops on tools like LaTeX and Overleaf, we focus on both depth and breadth — strengthening fundamentals while exposing members to real-world practices. We also actively collaborate across disciplines and communities, bringing technology into conversations about sustainability, education, and impact.

Above all, we’re a place to learn, build, and grow — together.

We have an active and welcoming community of students passionate about computing. Whether you’re just starting out or already deep into competitive programming or research, you’ll find people here who push you forward.

Testimonials include: “I joined for coding practice and stayed for the people — every discussion feels like leveling up.” “Algomania genuinely changed how I think about problem-solving.” “The workshops made things like LaTeX and research writing feel way less intimidating.” “ACM is where you go from ‘I know this’ to ‘I can actually build with this.’” “Never thought I’d enjoy debugging and algorithms this much until I found this community.”
